Restrictive measures against Russia tightened further

The EU Regulation 269/2014, for example, which already contained sanctions against Russia, has been extensively expanded and sets out further restrictive measures against Russia. The measures relate to the implementation of restrictive measures in respect of actions that threaten or undermine the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.

An amendment to Regulation (EU) 833/2014 prohibits the transfer of goods for a military purpose to certain legal entities and military end users in Russia. The provision of funding, financial assistance and technology in connection with such goods is also prohibited. In addition, economic operators were required to obtain prior approval for the sale, transfer or technologies for the oil industry in Russia. Furthermore, the access of certain Russian financial institutions to the capital market is restricted.

Further changes have been made in connection with sanctions lists. Various persons have been added to the sanctions lists.  The daily changes regarding international sanctions are taken into account in the HADDEX sanctions lists, which are published by our partner company Reguvis in cooperation with the BAFA.

In its explanatory memoranda to the regulations, the European Union regularly makes it clear that it continues to support territorial integrity and sovereignty. Sanctions against Russia are expected to continue in the coming period.
